The Nookomis Obagijigan book brings together the knowledge of moccasin makers from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Beautifully designed and illustrated 44 pages of instructions, patterns, photos, and the stories of the creators this book have brought together their life's work into these pages. Written completely in Ojibwe and English this book is one of a kind.
Made possible by the Minnesota Historical Society, Sarah Agaton Howes worked with apprentice Michelle Defoe and translator Maajiigwaneyaash to bring together the knowledge of their teachers to their communities and you.
