While we are known best known for our floral designs, these geometric designs are some of the oldest in Ojibwe life. Like the beautiful bag and belt weaving tradition in Ojibwe communities, these geometric designs are confined within the lines and rows of a loom or along with hand weaving. Still, the designs tell traditional stories and depict flowers, plants, water, and the sky. They represent the care taken to create beautiful utilitarian objects for our good life.

The Geometrics collection reflects the beautiful loom and weaving tradition in our Ojibwe art. Loom work requires restraint, planning, and balance. The beautiful and pleasing symmetry that results is truly indicative of Native art.
