Ode'imini-Danakiiwining, Heart Berry House

Our non profit focuses on a language forward learning environment to build cohorts of culture bearers. From classes, tools, and intern opportunities we engage in our seasonal lifeways to build from cultural curiosity to efficacy to mastery.

Current Projects:

Anishinaabe Canoe Migration

We are in our second year of rebuilding an Anishinaabe group of two spirit and women paddlers with cultural protocol, skills, and access to waterways. In 2025 we finished our season with a paddle down the historic highway of the St Louis River.

In 2026 we have song nights, book club, cultural protocols, weekly paddle practice, a youth internship, and culminating with a trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.

Rice Camp

We are taking the canoe work to the next level! We are engaging with a group of curious wild rice harvesters to get out onto the rice lakes harvesting our beloved manoomin this fall.
